The idea of racism, sexism, and overall unequal human rights, for me, is puzzling. Of course, since the beginning of time, there has always been a ruler or hierarchy of power within human settlement- one that establishes a set of guidelines and rules that have to be followed. Who put those people in charge? That's another puzzling part. Luckily these laws and their owners are dying off. I feel lucky to live in a time period and place where these ideas are on the way to joining their founders in the grave. I owe many thanks to the women of the past who have helped change the ways of sexism and I appreciate all those who had to tolerate it.
Before the 18th century, women were banned from theatrical performances. Although her role was vital in plays like Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, her physical presence wasn't allowed.
