The artistic movement, Dada, started in Europe around the time WWI was going on. Many of the artists involved with this movement wanted to escape from the war and thus moved to Switzerland- a neutral country. Many of the artists, however, were furious with the war and modern society so to rebel, they protested through art. In result, they decided to create non-art. Instead the create disarrayed images, also known as collages, and turned everyday objects into what they perceived, as art ...or well non-art.
