Singing in the rain remix

In the 1950s movie, Sining in the Rain, a new form of technology was being explored: Sound. This new feature brought a whole new world for film makers to explore; it was a positive reinforcement that brought optimism and excitement which is demonstrated within the entire movie.

The title song exemplified one of the main characters, Don's, enthusiasm towards falling in love.  The scene almost relates to that feeling of having butterflies in your stomach when you have a major crush on someone. It's happy and almost innocent.

Only twenty years later, however, the same song, Singin' in the rain, was used in a different context. Instead the song was played during the rape scene in the movie, Clockwork Orange. During the 1970s the American attitude of individual freedom and human rights began to increase. The hippie culture began to evolve and the opposition to war and government became more corrupt. Thus, this same attitude started to be portrayed in many movies. Although "Peace and love" comes to mind with the thought of hippies and the 1970s, however, Clockwork Orange, demonstrates otherwise.
